Pastor Jamelle McKenzie is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia. In addition, Pastor McKenzie attended CBI Bible College and completed graduate work at several institutions including the University of Virginia, Brenau University and Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center. Pastor McKenzie received the Doctor of Ministry from Virginia Seminary.

Versatility is one of Pastor McKenzie’s traits, which is verified by her having worked as an executive for Macy’s in New York and Atlanta. She continued to diversify in the career arena by instructing students at Little Keswick School in Virginia, serving as Head Teacher at the Study Hall at Emmaus House in Atlanta, and as a certified Elementary School teacher in the Atlanta Public School System. Equally outstanding is Pastor McKenzie’s entrepreneurial venture as Owner/Director of the Jacobs Center for Performing Arts.

Led by the Holy Spirit, Pastor McKenzie accepted the call to ministry in 1981 and became a licensed evangelist and was ordained in 1984. Demonstrating spiritually and moving under the anointing of God has been the lifestyle of Pastor McKenzie and is exemplified by her having founded an interdenominational ministry, Love in Action, at the University of Virginia. She has preached throughout the United States, counseled the abused, oppressed, bereaved, and depressed. Continuing to shine as a ministerial ray of light, Pastor McKenzie founded Word of Power Ministries and Adullam Ministries in Atlanta and later pastored two African Methodist Episcopal churches, St. Paul AME, Carrollton , GA and Knights Monumental AME, Stockbridge, GA.

In October 2006, Pastor McKenzie was led by God to form Destiny Tabernacle International Ministries, a non denominational church, as a vehicle to prepare God’s people to fulfill their Kingdom mandate. Destiny Tabernacle is a multi-cultural ministry filled with the love and anointing of God. Through this ministry people lives are being saved, restored, transformed and commissioned into the plan and purpose God ordained for them.

Pastor McKenzie is married to Minister Geoffrey McKenzie and they have one son, Reginald. Spending time with family and enjoying leisure activities helps keep Pastor McKenzie sensitive to the needs of others. She also enjoys flying with her husband and cooking.
